Why is preventive fly control so important?
Flies are a type of pest that a lot of businesses have problems with. This form of pest can cause irritation, deliver stress to your livestock, and give the impression that hygiene is lacking. Research has shown that, on average, flies can carry more than 300 different pathogens with them. Most of them were found on the feet and the wings. Flies often transmit diseases such as salmonella, cholera, dysentery, PIA, Rota- and PED-viruses to other animals. This can lead to a reduction in production by the livestock and the people living around your company can experience problems if your farm has a fly problem.

APC combats flies on livestock farms by using Organic Fly products. With these organic solutions we keep the flies off your property.
Stadium 1 - Eggs of the fly
Organic Fly Control – Pred Mite
A fly lays its eggs in a warm, humid and nutrient-rich place. By regularly releasing predatory mites the fly eggs and young larvae can be stopped using natural methods. Predatory mites function perfectly in both dry and wet manure and in places where straw is used.
Stadium 2 - Maggots
Organic Fly Control – Pred Fly
After 3 to 4 days the maggots can be fully grown. We take care of this stage by regularly releasing a special type of predatory mite. This predatory mite can settle in the slurry storage because it does not like light. After some time the larvae will emerge from the egg in the manure. When the larva is strong enough, it will suck the larvae from the flies completely empty.
Stadium 3 - Maggots and moths
Organic Fly Control – Predal
Predal contains nematodes that parasite onto the larvae of insects, even that of moths that are not sensitive to Madendood. An advantage is that the use of predal prevents biocides from being put in the manure storage.
